The Insight and Mindfulness courses are a direct experiential training in mindfulness, awareness, and insight. The teachings provide the means for individuals to become active participants in their own healing and unfolding process.

Insight and Mindfulness meditation is the foundation for all courses on this site. The meditation instruction is integrated with various professional skills for the purpose of exploring and promoting contemplative awareness and compassionate action within our culture.There has been a constant presence of the teachings in Houston since 1984. Mary Rees has been teaching Insight Meditation since 1989, starting under the guidance of Rodney Smith who began teaching in Houston in 1984.

If you already have an establishded meditation practice orhave a speical interest there are several offerings available below (also on left navigation bar) to deepen and enrich your practice and to integrate it more deeply into your personal and professional life.
Meditation in Groups
Weeend Retreats, with environments of sustained stillness and awareness, are conducive to deep integration of meditation teachings and thus provide a rich and powerful beginning experience.
One - Eight week courses are offered upon request for groups or organizations (secular and spiritual).
Seven - Eight week Mindfulness-Based courses (MBSR) include more body work than other courses.
All courses can be tailored for various circumstances and populations.

Individual Courses
Independently, do a computer-based meditation course.
Follow up individual or group course with ongoing individual work
One session introduction to meditation practice is available by pre-arrangement at the weekly meditation course
Look with mindfulness at your visions, goals, desires in a creating process
